Like you mentioned, the regular one-shot coffee can be slightly weak, so you can request a double shot in any coffee type (cappuccino, latte, etc.) for a super kick. It will knock your socks off.

Again, like you, I wished there were perhaps more cakes on display, but usually they have freshly baked cakes and puddings on the side. Their Lemon Meringue is to die for, but certainly not cheap, and you have to get it while it lasts! It flies off the shelf.

I have yet to see any flies on their cakes though, and I visit throughout the year. You must have been incredibly unlucky in that aspect.
